On July 7, 2024, Attorney Kaicheng Lo was invited by the Taiwan Speech-Language-Hearing Association to deliver a speech on “Ethical Controversies and Legal Issues Related to Speech Therapists in Long-Term Care.”
Through real case studies, he specifically introduced civil and criminal liabilities that have arisen during speech therapists’ execution of long-term care services. He also provided recommendations on how to prevent medical disputes by outlining key compliance matters before, during, and after service delivery.
Additionally, he explained the procedures for speech therapists to follow when dealing with sexual harassment, including how to respond, file complaints, and seek remedies.
